This crochet bag is created using the timeless granny stitch, making it a simple yet stylish project. It's lightweight and great for everyday use, whether as casual tote or handmade gift. You can easily customized this crochet bag with different yarns and colors.

MATERIALS USED

  • Scissors

  • Needle

  • Stitch Marker

  • 3.5mm Hook Size

  • Purple Yarn 98g

  • White Yarn 100g

  • Pink Yarn 90g

  • Start with by making a sl kt, then chain 36


ROUND 1

  • Skip 3 chains (the 3 chains count as first double crochet), 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc (in the 4th ch)

  • Sk 3 ch, 3 dc (7 times), In the last ch make 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc

  • (Work on the other side) sk 3 ch, 3 dc (7 times), back in the 4th ch make 3 dc, ch 2, sl st


ROUND 2

  • Ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc (In the 1st corner), 3 dc (8 times)

  • 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc (In the 2nd and 3rd corner), 3 dc (8 times)

STRAP

  • For the bag strap, please refer to the image below for reference.

  • Attach your yarn to the first space and we'll start crocheting the strap.


ROW 1

  • Ch 3 (In the 1st sp), 3 dc (9 times), 1 dc (In the 11th sp)


ROW 2

  • Ch 3 and turn the work over, 3 dc (8 times), 1 dc (In the last sp)


ROW 3

  • Ch 3 and turn the work over, 3 dc (7 times), 1 dc (In the last sp)

  • Ch 3 and turn the work over, 3 dc (6 times), 1 dc (In the last sp)

Align the ends of the strap and sew them together securely.


Now, work one single crochet around the top of the bag and along the strap to create a neat, finished edge.

  • 2 sc (In each of the next 54 turning chain), sl st
