Crochet stationery case | Heart Granny Square

You can use any type of yarn that is suitable for a crochet bag or case, depending on the look you want.


MATERIALS USED

  • Scissors

  • Needle

  • Zipper

  • Stitch Marker

  • 3.5mm Hook Size

  • Soft Pink Yarn 63g

  • Rose pink Yarn 50g

CHAINLESS CROCHET FOUNDATION

Before we begin creating the heart granny square, I will show you how to make a chainless half double crochet foundation. This technique forms both the initial chain and the first row of crochet stitches. However, you can also start with a traditional chain foundation and skip this part if you prefer.


Start with magic ring or chain ring

HEART GRANNY SQUARE

Using your rose pink yarn or any yarn color you prefer, chain 4, then skip 3 chains from the hook and slip stitch into the first chain to create a chain ring.


ROUND 1

(Work into the ring)

  • 3 hdc, ch 2, 3 hdc, ch 2, 3 hdc, ch 2, 3 hdc, ch 2, sl st to join

  • In this round, you have a total of four sets of three hdc and four ch sp


ROUND 2

  • 1 hdc (3 times), (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) In ch sp

  • Repeat the process 3 more times and In the final round, sl st to join

  • In this round, you have 28 hdc and 4 ch sp total around.


ROUND 3

  • 1 hdc, CB 1 hdc (3 times), CA 1 hdc (2 times)

  • (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) in ch sp,1 hdc (7 times)

  • In the last round, work 1 hdc and switch to color B before making the sl st

  • In this round, you have 44 hdc and 4 ch sp total around.


ROUND 4

  • 1 hdc (6 times), CA 1 hdc (2 times)

  • (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) in ch sp

  • 1 hdc (9 times), CB 1 hdc (2 times)

  • (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) in ch sp

  • 1 hdc (2 times), CA 1 hdc (7 times), CB 1 hdc (2 times)

  • (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) in ch sp

  • 1 hdc (2 times), CA 1 hdc (9 times)

  • (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) in ch sp

  • In this round, you have 60 hdc and 4 ch sp total around.


ROUND 5

  • CA 1 hdc (6 times), CB 1 hdc (6 times), (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) In ch sp

  • 1 hdc (5 times), CA 1 hdc (4 times), CB 1 hdc (5 times)

  •  (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) In ch sp, 1 hdc (6 times), CA 1 hdc (6 times)

  • CB 1 hdc (2 times), (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) In ch sp

  • Cut the rose pink color yarn

  • In this round, you have 72 hdc and 4 ch sp total around.


ROUND 6

  • 1 sc (12 times), (2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) In ch sp, 1 sc (17 times)

  • (2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) In ch sp, 1 sc (17 times)

  • (2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) In ch sp, 1 sc (17 times)

  • (2 sc, ch 2, 2 sc) In ch sp, 1 sc (5 times), sl st


BLOCKING GRANNY SQUARE

Place the granny square on the board and spray it with water and allow

the squares to air dry fully which can take several hours or overnight


For this project, you need to make a total of 4 granny squares.


Join the granny square together.


MAKE SC AROUND

sl kt, 1 sc (42 times), 3 sc In the ch sp, 1 sc (10 times), 3 sc In the ch sp,

1 sc (42 times), 1 sc (10 times), 3 sc In the ch sp, sl st


Sew a zipper to a granny square.


Finally, join the two pieces together using single crochet (sc).


Turn the crochet case inside out, and just like that,

your handmade crochet case is complete.
